u are too sentimental.as true as this article may seem, it is absolutely an agent of destructive criticism. though our agonising histories linger on in our memories but good nigerians don't need people like you to remind us of them and make a book out of them. you are indeed an image-spoiler and an image-soiler.imagine an american or an european reading this. what is the impression you are trying to create?(that nigerian is nnot inhabitable).we need ideas not lampoons,we need solutions not problems,we need healthy and good leaders not bad followers(like you),we need the a psychological boost not a bad morale. if you know you don't have better things to do than to destroy us. then LEAVE US. LOOK ON THE BRIGHTER SIDE.

I think this article is just a knee jerk reaction and tries to stoke up some sentiments, which in truth is not baseless but also not a reflection of the truth. To say that Abdul Muttallab is a product of Northern Islamic fundamentalism is sad. If you (the author) has really followed the religious crises in Nigeria, how many of the perpetrators have hailed from wealthy families? What has been the fate of Muslims from other parts of the country in such riots? Nigeria is as complex as is diverse and it is easy for any uninformed or mischievious individual to use facts to present lies and still get some sympathy from readers. There is a lot wrong with Nigeria, but if Islam is the major problem, then we would expect the parts not majorly populated by muslims to be head and shoulders above the rest. I respect and identify with the views of Asaaju.

everyone is aware of the situation in the country (even the illiterates). expressing your intellectual capacity here cannot solve the problem. Let's just pray.

I wonder why such an intellectual like Tunde could write what I see as jargons up there.I schooled in Zaria and put-up around the core hausas.I had countless number of them as friends,I must assert they are peace loving people, but they only react adversely wen u abuse the religion they cherished so much. The christians themselves know this fact, but still the stuborn ones among them always put the others into trouble.Wherever u find ursef, dont go beyond ur jurisdiction, follow the rules slated for such areas. And this is what I discovered about some muslims(mostly the northerners) residing in christian-owned areas.U see if these crises go beyond religion,it has tribal or political intonation. And most perpetrators are the illiterate northerners, whose population has the highest proportion. But the fact still remain, why must it be that most crises emanates from these areas. To resolve such problems,a round-table meeting with our leaders should be put in place. And lastly, another election is approaching, lets know the kind of leaders to be voted for.It is nt about the largeness of the party supporters,bt the calibre of people that makes up such party. The writer has done so good.Keep it up!

What is Tunde talking about? I bet u are just hiding under the disguise of tunde but your name is some ............!
I AM A TRUE NIGERIAN! I LOVE NIGERIA.I TRAVEL FAR AND NEAR BUT CANT STAY ANYWHERE OUTSIDE NIGERIA!
We have to stop deceiving ourselves, and call A SPADE A SPADE!
The writer has said it the way it is!
If u have witnessed one of those religious fights in the north and you are still alive, you will live to praise God all your life! Who suffers most in the riots? CHRISTIANS!
I was schooled in Zaria and witnessed most of the riots,so I know what I am talking about.
And why did the stupid nerd choose a Christmas day of all days to perpetuate his evil act?AGAINST CHRISTIANS AS USUAL!
It is only in northern Nigeria that you have religious riots and compulsory sharia laws.Other parts are flexible! Take the south for instance,in ALL families, you have Christians and muslims. So,they cant afford to fight one another.
Why is islam religion so violent? If they need to kill as they do,they should kill themselves and STOP thinking of destroying others pls!
I think Nigeria should be divided and let them turn their states to sharia country and we will live happily in our own country.Enough is enough pls!
The aspect of keeping our image does not arise because we have foreigners here and they report what they see.The WORLD knows the truth about Nigerians. They know that we are a happy people, suffering and smiling. They also know that we ARE NOT TERRORISTS!And that we endure things inspite of whatever comes our way.
But if d nerd is opening a new door for terrorism,it should be to his folks and likes alone, cos we CHRISTIANS are NO TERRORIST! No apologies pls!

@Tunde: I should start by stating that, if there be any element of sentimentalism, then i think its with your point of view. As a matter of fact, I think Rudolf is being nice here. to be frank, is it the northern crises, the southern oppression or the nationalized corrupt practices that is not true? the north (with all due respect) has always hid under "religion" to perpetuate evil and no one is being brought to justice time after time. Why is it so? Its simply because sociopaths like you.

Tunde is talking about " A Brighter side " what is bright in a country with an absentee president . I think we should stop deceiving our selves . The only way to address our problems is by identifying our problems & that is what the writer of this article has done . If we want our country to be habitable , we ( leaders & followers ) should have a rethink . I believe in Nigeria & Nigerians . I believe we are a good people & great nation . But i also believe that in becoming good & great , our leaders should wake up and provide SIMPLE BASIC AMENITIES .
