Sidney, I think you are loosing sight of the bigger picture here; i have not attacked dele momodu as a person. Just as he took liberty to write about the current political situation in Nigeria without taking a long look at the role his magazine played in making people aspire to exalted public offices without accounting for the attendant responsibilities of such appointments, i have also taken liberty to point out his role in using his magazine to entrench such classless people as role models of our vibrant youth. You see, our role models are those unsong public servants (civil, para-military, military and the private sector) who upheld the sancity or tenets of the appointments and office. How often did he capture them in his magazines. If you say ovation was or is a business venture, then i must say that politics as practiced in Nigeria is also a business venture!

Kola, that the man writes this up is no reason to attack him as a person.Ovation is a business like any other, doesnt define who he is.If Nigerians did not like Ovation, did not appreciate its role,it would have gone under. Please attack the issues if you must, not the person.
God bless Nigeria.

..hmm, Dele momodu at it again, A praise singer of a bird, an MKO die-hard who abandoned the boat when MKO was jailed !... a guy who left the Abiola's to lick their wounds when the fight was too tough !,.... Owner of "Ovation".. who's always ready to put the rich and powerful's on it's low level magazine, A praise singer of all times looking for a way up... The simple question is, What are you "Dele Momodu" ready to do on sight personally in Nigeria for Nigerian's apart from sitting in your cozy home in the UK, or Ghana to help Nigeria grow apart from writing intermitently to criticise Nigeria... and your power drunk benefactors !..... after-all, you'd praised worshipped the likes of IBB, and Abacha, to mention but few..
Please, if you don't have nothing serious to write about... can you please shut-up for a minute !.... We Nigeriqans know our problems and where they're coming from, and we only know that only divine intervention can lead us out of it all,after-all Sanni Abacha died mysteriously, IBB left without handing over power but "Stepped aside"... can you see that God's never forgotten Nigeria ?

This is a very shallow write up! Maybe one day you should summon the courage to write about the role of your magazine "Ovation" in celebrating 'lutocracy' in Nigeria. Nonsense!

Good day Simon, I am a regular reader of your column. I totally disagree with some of the comparisons in the article on Obasanjo. I am not saying he is a saint but he is an honourable man to have handed over to civilian president twice in this country as planned. We can count numbers of unfulfilled promises of handing over!!!! To start counting his achievements would tend my arguments towards been his loyalist. He is a man of destiny and history.
I totally agree with you on Ojo Madueke. However, I would say its right to criticise policies when made if truly there are genue reasons and corrections to move the policies forward. I am talking on the new CBN policies on MDs. You do not need to wait for lapses or say you reserve your comments on issues national importance.
